Audience Analysis: NHRA Sees Viewership Bump On Fox Sports With More Live Events

The inaugural NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series on Fox and FS1 finished last weekend with an average of 634,000 viewers over 24 events. ESPN and ESPN2 in their last year covering the series in ’15 averaged 513,000 viewers. Fox’ numbers this season were boosted by 17 live events, as ESPN last year mostly ran races on tape delay.

JUST FOR KICKS: Univision averaged 4.6 million viewers for Mexico’s 2-1 win over the U.S. men’s national team in last Friday’s World Cup qualifier. The match, which was simulcast on Univision Deportes, marks the most-watched WC qualifier on any network since the U.S.-Mexico match in March of ’13 (THE DAILY).
