Sashi Brown Says Browns Will Stick To Plan Despite Continued On-Field Struggles

Browns Exec VP/Football Operations Sashi Brown yesterday said that the NFL’s only winless team will "stick together, stick to its plan and eventually stick it to its skeptics," according to Nate Ulrich of the AKRON BEACON JOURNAL. Brown: "We always knew this was going to be a major challenge where we sat with our roster, our cap situation and where we were standing at quarterback as well ... but we are steadfast in our plan, and we feel we're on the right course." Brown added, "There's some real positive signs in what we're seeing here in the building." Ulrich notes the looming question is whether Owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam will be "able to stomach a winless season without blowing up the organization again." They have "discarded three regimes since buying the Browns" in '12. Brown: "Both myself and Jimmy have talked about this. We want a team of people that are going to be together for a long time. (A lack of continuity) has always been a disadvantage for us." Brown added, "We know that if we trust in our plan and our process and our people, the winning will follow. That is the hard thing to do right now is to stay together, but that is being done." Brown said he does not think the team is in "danger of losing" the fan base. Brown: "We are in a really privileged position to have one of the best fan bases in the NFL. The winning ways are coming, and the days of winning are coming. We're confident in that. We just have to stick to the plan and support our fans through that process" (AKRON BEACON JOURNAL, 11/15).
