NASCAR Driver Kevin Harvick Signs Three-Year Extension Of Deal With Busch Beer

A-B InBev's Busch brand has "signed a new three-year contract to remain as one of the primary sponsors" of Stewart-Haas Racing's No. 4 Sprint Cup entry driven by Kevin Harvick, according to Tom Jensen of FOXSPORTS.com. The deal "shouldn't be much of a surprise, given the phenomenal success Harvick has enjoyed since he and crew chief Rodney Childers joined SHR" prior to the start of the '14 season. Harvick won the Cup championship in '14, was runner-up to Kyle Busch last year and is "one of eight drivers still in the hunt to win it all this year" (FOXSPORTS.com, 11/3). The agreement will see Busch "upping the number for primary sponsorship races from 12 to 16" through the duration of the deal. Harvick also will have "sponsorship from Mobil1 and Jimmy John's next season" (NASCAR.com, 11/4). With the renewal, SHR is in good shape inventory wise for its Nos. 4, 10 and 41 cars. However, the team still has a good bit of inventory on the No. 14, which Clint Bowyer is slated to take over next year when the team switches manufacturers from Chevy to Ford. The renewal with A-B is good news not just for SHR but for the entire industry, as it represents a blue-chip, consumer-focused brand that is not just extending but adding races at a time when some brands have moved in the other direction (Adam Stern, Staff Writer).
