Rubber Neckin': Goodyear In Talks To Extend Long-Term Partnership With NASCAR

Goodyear is "currently renegotiating its contract with NASCAR" as the racing circuit's official tire partner, according to Lee Spencer of MOTORSPORT.com. Goodyear, which has been with NASCAR since '54, has one more year left on its deal. However, Goodyear Dir of Racing Tire Sales & Marketing Greg Stucker "doesn't expect" the partnership to change. Stucker: "To my knowledge, there are no major hurdles. There are always little items you need to work out, particularly with the way the landscape is now." Spencer noted while there have been "rumblings about other tire manufacturers attempting to get in the game, Stucker isn't aware of any competition in the category moving forward" (MOTORSPORT.com, 11/3).
