Former Fox Sports Chair DAVID HILL and filmmaker REGINALD HUDLIN's "names are off the list of possible Oscar producers." Sources said that Hill and Hudlin, who produced the 88th Oscars, met with Academy officials several months ago but have had "no follow-up conversations since." At the moment, both Hill and Hudlin "have turned their attention to other projects" (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 11/2).

: Basketball HOFer BOB COUSY on Nov. 14 will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Boston Globe's "The Globies" sports awards show (BOSTON GLOBE, 11/3)....The '17 class of the Cable HOF, to be inducted in DC on April 26, includes NBCU CEO STEVE BURKE and Discovery Communications President & CEO DAVID ZASLAV (MULTICHANNEL.com, 11/2).

CHARITY STRIPE: The Atlanta United Foundation, charitable arm of the MLS expansion club, last week unveiled a 9,600-square-foot soccer field at the Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority's Five Points station in downtown Atlanta, one of the "first in the nation at a transit center." The field will be "open to adult and children's leagues as well as individuals for daily play" (AJC.com, 10/28)....Bucks coach JASON KIDD has donated more than $1M to "establish a men's basketball scholarship" at Cal, his alma mater (ESPN.com, 11/2).

NAMES: AYS Marketing will "bring a culinary event" called Taste of Tennis to Indian Wells, Calif., to "help kick off the BNP Paribas Open" in March. The event is set for March 6, the first day of the tournament (DESERTSUN.com, 10/28)....USL club FC Cincinnati yesterday announced that ESPN's TAYLOR TWELLMAN will emcee a "town hall-style event" featuring MLS Commissioner DON GARBER at Woodward Theater on Nov. 29. The town hall is the "public nightcap to a day's worth of FC Cincinnati-focused activities for Garber" (CINCINNATI.com, 11/2)....MICHAEL PHELPS will be the "featured guest" for the '17 PGA Tour Waste Management Phoenix Open Tee-Off Luncheon. The event "will be emceed" by D-backs President & CEO DERRICK HALL on Dec. 14 at The Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale (AZCENTRAL.com, 11/2)....Development company Penn-Florida hired Golf HOFer JACK NICKLAUS to "redesign the golf course" at its Via Mizner Golf & City Club in Boca Raton (BIZJOURNALS.com, 11/3).
