Audience Analysis: F1 U.S. Grand Prix At Lowest Point Since '12; WNBA Finals Drops 3%

NBC on Sunday drew 727,000 viewers for the F1 U.S. Grand Prix from Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, marking the race’s lowest figure since its debut on Speed TV in ’12 (688,000 viewers). The audience is down from 889,000 viewers last year and 788,000 viewers in ’14, both on NBC.

SPARKS FLY: The WNBA Finals averaged 488,000 viewers for the five-game Sparks-Lynx series across ABC, ESPN and ESPN2, down 3% from the five-game Lynx-Fever series last year (502,000 viewers). This year’s Finals also were down from the Mercury’s sweep of the Sky in ’14 (634,000 viewers), but up from 344,000 viewers for the Lynx’ sweep of the Dream in '13. A bright spot for the series was Game 1, which drew 597,000 viewers on ABC to mark the best WNBA Finals Game 1 audience since '98. Meanwhile, WNBA.com and WNBA Mobile during the Finals were up 10% in average monthly uniques and 31% in video views across all platforms.
