Ute Oughta Know: Utah Announces 10-Year, $65M Extension With Under Armour

The Univ. of Utah has reached a 10-year extension of its apparel deal with Under Armour for $65M, keeping the program as "one of the three Pac-12 schools" with the company, according to Kyle Goon of the SALT LAKE TRIBUNE. The contract gives Utah up to $48M in apparel, $11.6M in rights fees, $1.5M to the scholarship fund, and $3.9M in marketing, sponsorship and licensing opportunities. Utah’s teams can also earn more than $2M annually in "performance bonuses." It is a "significant increase from Utah’s current deal," which gives the school $1.8M in apparel and $600,000 in rights fees for FY '17. The new deal kicks in July 1, 2017. The football team has worn UA jerseys since '08, with the rest of the school's teams "following suit" in '11 (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 10/14).
