Mobil 1 Extends Stewart-Haas Racing Sponsorship For All Four Sprint Cup Rides

ExxonMobil on Friday announced that it will be extending the Mobil 1 brand's sponsorship of Stewart-Haas Racing in a multiyear deal. Mobil 1 will provide primary sponsorships across SHR’s four NASCAR Sprint Cup Series cars -- Kevin Harvick’s No. 4, Danica Patrick’s No. 10, Clint Bowyer’s No. 14 and Kurt Busch’s No. 41 -- at various races throughout the year. The brand will remain an associate sponsor for all SHR drivers at all other races. Team Owner Tony Stewart, who is retiring after this year, will remain a brand ambassador for Mobil 1. The brand will also be an associate sponsor of SHR's new Xfinity Series car driven by Cole Custer (Mobil 1). ESPN.com's Bob Pockrass noted the "number of primary-race sponsorships for the SHR stable likely will remain similar to what the company has done in the past, with Harvick as the 'lead' driver." Mobil 1 joined SHR in '11 but "considered going to other teams after Stewart retired this year." SHR's two Cup championships -- Stewart in '11 and Harvick in '14 -- as well as the product development collaboration "helped convince the company to remain" with the team (ESPN.com, 10/7).
