Cavaliers Unveil New Court Design For Upcoming Season At Quicken Loans Arena

The Cavaliers during their Wine & Gold Scrimmage yesterday at Quicken Loans Arena revealed an "updated court design," according to Joe Noga of the Cleveland PLAIN DEALER. Fans will notice the "addition of a black border around the court, connecting the floor to the team's popular black sleeved jerseys" worn in Game 7 of the '16 NBA Finals. It "replaces the blue border that ringed the court the past two seasons." The Cleveland skyline shadow effect is "gone, replaced by the team's sword logo along the midcourt line on the hardwood maple surface." A state of Ohio design "appears along the sideline at midcourt, flanked by the team's DNA statement 'All for One. One for All.'" Fans also will "notice the names of Cavaliers Wine & Gold United members (the team's year-round season ticket based club) written in the letters" (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 10/1). Cleveland-based WEWS-ABC noted the website Cavs.com and Twitter handle @cavs for the team are "displayed on the east sideline" (NEWSNET5.com, 10/1). ESPN.com's Dave McMenamin noted the Cavaliers are "still figuring out their plans for the old court, but a safe bet is some of it will be on display while some of it will be sold or auctioned off in pieces in order to raise money for charity" (ESPN.com, 10/2).
