Orange Sliced: Dolphins' Color Rush Uniforms Mocked, Compared To Bucs' Creamsicles

The Dolphins debuted their new Color Rush jersey Thursday night during their 22-7 loss to the Bengals, and they looked like a "cross between a syrupy orange soft drink and the old ... Buccaneers uniforms of Creamsicle yore," according to Eric Edholm of YAHOO SPORTS. The jerseys make those that the Univ. of Tennessee wears "look tame," and many observers believe they "look like anything but a football outfit." Yahoo Sports prior to the season ranked the Color Rush uniforms and had the Dolphins at No. 31, ahead of just the Jaguars. However, after seeing the jerseys on Thursday, Edholm wrote, "Seriously, Jacksonville Jaguars -- we owe you an apology for putting yours below ... this" (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 9/29). In West Palm Beach, Hal Habib gives the uniforms an "F" and writes, "Nice of the old Bucs to lend the Dolphins those creamsicle duds. Not so nice of the Dolphins to not only looks like those Bucs, but play like them" (PALMBEACHPOST.com, 9/30). In Miami, Adam Beasley noted the "glow-in-the-dark jerseys were just about the only thing bright" after the Dolphins' opening drive, which resulted in the team's only points (MIAMI HERALD, 9/30).

TWITTER REAX: The Wall Street Journal’s Joe Flint: “Just occurred to me that Dolphins vs Bengals could be most hideous color rush yet." NFL Network’s Courtney Fallon: “The #Dolphins color rush uniforms resemble a giant orange creamsicle. There. I said it.” The Miami Herald's Greg Cote: “I hate to be mean, but the @MiamiDolphins, in those awful orange uniforms, look like animated Creamsicles.” NFL Network’s Steve Wyche: “Those Dolphins color rush unis, were they made by Cheetos?”
