Tebow's Baseball Move Immediately Places Him Near Top Of MLB Social Media Influencers

Tim Tebow’s social media prowess is widely known, but with his switch over to baseball, he vaults to the upper echelon among MLBers, ranking third among all baseball players in terms of social media reach/engagement/conversation, according to data from social media measurement firm MVPindex. Across all platforms, Tebow ranks behind Mariners 2B Robinson Cano and Angels CF Mike Trout, respectively. Tebow’s overall reach among MLBers is second only to Trout, while his engagement level on social media is second only to Blue Jays RF Jose Bautista. Tebow has the fourth-best following among baseball players on Instagram, with his likes per day and comments per day both ranking in the top five among MLBers during the last week. On Facebook, Tebow dwarfs any other MLBer in terms of followers. He is almost 1 million fans ahead of second place, which is retiring Red Sox DH David Ortiz. Among all baseball players, he accounts for more than 25% of daily comments on Facebook. Tebow ranks first among all baseball players on Twitter, with just under 3.4 million followers. Trout ranks second with just over 2 million followers.
