Jim Harbaugh, Family Members Star In Series Of Online Ads For Fairlife Milk

Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh and his wife Sarah are "starring in a series of social media commercials ... promoting Fairlife milk," according to Matt Wenzel of MLIVE.com. The "Harbaugh Highlights" campaign has six installments, including one in which Harbaugh says while putting on shoulder pads, "Captain Completion here can fit back into his old armor." He is seen in the mirror saying, "Still fits." Harbaugh in another ad "jokes that milk is a better breakfast idea than he had, then it shows him cracking an egg over cereal" (MLIVE.com, 9/20). Harbaugh's "three young children" also appear in the ads (FREEP.com, 9/20). Fairlife VP/Communications Anders Porter said that the company, which is partially owned by Coca-Cola, had been talking with Harbaugh "about doing something for almost a year." ESPN.com's Darren Rovell noted Harbaugh at last year's UM football media day was asked by a six-year-old fan "how much milk he would need to drink to grow up to be a quarterback." Harbaugh answered, "As much as your little body could hold" (ESPN.com, 9/20).

MILK DOES A RIVALRY GOOD: Harbaugh yesterday promoted the partnership on "The Dan Patrick Show," talking about how milk is present in the UM training facility. He said, "We have chocolate milk, we have whole milk. The fellas even talked me into 2%, which is better than nothing." Patrick tried to poke Harbaugh a little, saying, "Urban Meyer drinks 1%." Harbaugh responded with an obvious levity in his voice by saying, "Well, we refuse to drink the candy-ass skim milk, or the 1%. We won't have any of that." That sent Patrick and the show producers into hysterics, giving Harbaugh a round of applause for playing along ("The Dan Patrick Show," 9/20).
