Twins' Search For President Of Baseball Operations Moving Faster Than Expected

The Twins' search for a president of baseball operations is moving ahead, possibly on a "faster timetable than originally believed," as the team "could announce something before the end of the regular season," according to La Velle Neal III of the Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE. The "start date of that hire might not be until late October or early November." Cubs Senior VP/Scouting & Player Development Jason McLeod will "interview with the Twins" now that the Cubs have clinched the NL Central Division title. Indians Assistant GM Derek Falvey was named as another candidate, while Dodgers VP/Baseball Operations Alex Anthopoulos was "never a serious candidate." Royals VP & Assistant GM/Player Personnel J.J. Picollo "has already interviewed" with the Twins. There are also "indications that the Twins have been turned down by some teams when they requested to speak with potential candidates" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 9/16).
