Gatorade Considers Adding Sports Science Institute To Cowboys' New The Star HQ

A new Gatorade Sports Science Institute "may be added to the Baylor Scott & White Sports Therapy Research facility that is scheduled to open" at The Star in Frisco by early '18, according to Sabriya Rice of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones "informally announced the Gatorade partnership Monday during an event hosted by the Dallas Business Journal." Few details were offered, but Jones said that the partnership "will further enhance the team’s vision to make the facility 'the safest place in the country' for sports." Jones: “There will be more to come." Rice noted the Cowboys and Baylor Scott & White Health in June "broke ground on a sports medicine research facility to be housed at The Star that will focus on injury prevention when it opens." Edelman PR, which handles public affairs for The Star, confirmed that a location at The Star for the Gatorade institute is still "in early development," but could not provide additional details (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 9/14).

MORE TO COME: Cowboys Exec VP, COO & Dir of Player Personnel Stephen Jones hinted that the club has "landed yet another office tenant" at The Star, but "declined to disclose the details." Jones said, "The leasing is going great. We think we are about 80 percent there and we have a lot more that we are going to announce as we move forward.” Asked if the increasing demand for tenants means the club could open another building, Jones responded, "We are certainly looking at it. I had a meeting with Lincoln [Property] last week on what it might look like, what kind of size it will be and where we might put it. We haven’t made any of those decisions" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 9/15).
