Brady Takes Comedic Turn Alongside Jeff Bridges In Latest Ugg For Men Campaign

Ugg for Men this week unveiled its latest campaign, which features Patriots QB Tom Brady, WR Julian Edelman and actor Jeff Bridges, which “centers on a man's right to ‘Do Nothing’ and kicked off with the digital video ‘Song,’" according to Ann-Christine Diaz of CREATIVITY-ONLINE. In the video, Bridges sits on a couch "alongside a sleeping Brady, serenading him softly with an acoustic version of ‘Buffalo Gals’ that takes an unexpectedly energetic turn.” Set in a "rustic, lodge-like dwelling, other spots feature Bridges enjoying the attendance of butler drones and doing a private dance." Another shows Brady, "again at rest, while Edelman is all over the place trying to keep himself occupied amidst all the serenity” (CREATIVITY-ONLINE.com, 9/13). FAST COMPANY’s Dan Solomon wrote the "zany tone isn't a million miles away from what we typically see in ads with NFL dudes -- DirecTV, Old Spice, even the latest from State Farm all have similar themes -- but the contrast here between that with the stained wood and tanned leather aesthetic of Ugg helps this campaign stand out” (FASTCOCREATE.com, 9/13). Brady said of Bridges, “He’s like you expect.” Brady: “He taught me to play the guitar. Or I wouldn’t say [I] was playing the guitar, but he taught me where to put my hands, and to strum and to play a few notes." USA TODAY’s Cara Kelly noted Brady’s teammates have “become more supportive of his side job over the years, in no small part to the gifts that come along with Brady's Uggs work.” Brady said, “I’ve given away a lot of pairs to a lot of friends. They better take good care of me because I always take good care of them. They always get a nice gift over the course of the year whether it’s the boots or the slippers” (USATODAY.com, 9/13).
