In this week's SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, Terry Lefton notes Lenovo has "dropped its NFL sponsorship after a four-year run." Lenovo signed on as a league sponsor in '12, with "rights encompassing the notebook, desktop and workstation categories, and extended the deal" before the '15 season to include servers (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 9/12 issue).

Robins said there was potential for a merger
when the time is right
STRENGTH IN NUMBERS: DraftKings co-Founder & CEO Jason Robins yesterday again noted his company has "held merger talks periodically over the last 18 months with FanDuel." While he said that "no deal is imminent, Robins laid out the benefits of a merger." Robins: "When the the time is right, there's potential." Robins said that "combining the two companies could also reduce legal and lobbying costs" (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 9/13). 

BRONX FANATIC: ADWEEK's Christine Birkner noted Wix.com will be "crowning the biggest Yankees fan of them all" after they invited people to "submit videos proving their devotion to the team" last week through the websites #BiggestYankeesFan contest. The winner will be "presented with a trophy" at tonight's game against the Dodgers, "meet Yankees players and take the field during batting practice." The winner will also "have his or her own No. 1 Yankees Fan website created by Wix.com" (ADWEEK.com, 9/12).

IT'S BO-TIME: In Detroit, Frank Witsil noted a new shop named Bo, in honor of the late Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler, "opened this month in Ann Arbor." The shop "offers gear, books and other merchandise tied to the coach." Store co-Founder Ryan Gregg said that the concept has the "blessing of Schembechler's wife, Cathy, through a licensing agreement." A "small slice of some of the merchandise sales helps benefit Schembechler-supported charities" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 9/11).
