PGA Tour Streaming OTT Coverage On Facebook, Twitter For Start Of FedExCup

The PGA Tour is rolling out some new digital offerings as the FedExCup playoffs gets underway tomorrow. The Tour for the first time will live stream its "PGA Tour Live" OTT coverage on Facebook Live and Twitter during the first two events of the FedExCup Playoffs. PGA Tour Live will test its livestream on Twitter and Facebook Live with more than 14 hours of Thursday and Friday morning coverage of featured groups from both tournaments. The PGA Tour Live coverage on the social media channels comes a year after the Tour launched the OTT service in a partnership with BAM Tech. The Tour has also signed a distribution deal with Perform Group to stream PGA Tour Live coverage on Perform’s live streaming service DAZN in Japan. The deal will give DAZN coverage from more than 30 events annually through '18. The Tour also announced that it will conduct a trial run that will allow players to stream live video for the first time during practice rounds and pro-am days on Tour-approved social media outlets. PGA Tour Exec VP & Chief of Operations Andy Pazder said, "We feel it is important for the PGA Tour to continually look at ways for our players to showcase their personalities and connect with their fans. If the trial goes well we believe this expanded social media policy for our members will enhance how fans follow their favorite players throughout the season."
