WNBA Unveils New Super20 Promotion As It Returns From Five-Week Olympic Hiatus

The WNBA is set to resume its 20th season on Friday after taking a five-week break to accommodate the Rio Games, and the league today unveiled its newest promotion, WNBA Super20. As part of the promo, any ticket purchased online to a game enters fans in a sweepstakes to attend either the ’17 WNBA All-Star Game, the ’17 NBA All-Star Game or a chance to win $20,000. WNBA COO Jay Parry said, “With all the interest coming out of the Olympics and our women’s national team with their sixth consecutive Gold Medal, we really wanted to do something special for our fans and create something that would say 'thank you' to our core fans but also introduce the WNBA to our casual fans.” People who attend the games also will have the opportunity to become instant winners through a text-to-win promotion. Parry: “It’s a multi-level campaign that we haven’t done before in the WNBA. It's about creating something special for our fans in what’s been an incredible year for us so far.” Building off the season-long "Watch Me Work" campaign, WNBA Super20 includes a new 30-second spot introducing the promo. The spot was unveiled today on social and digital assets and will debut on ESPN2 Sunday night during a doubleheader featuring Lynx-Storm and Sparks-Mercury. The Marketing Arm, the agency behind the "Watch Me Work" campaign, is also working on the Super20 promo, which will run through the end of the regular season on Sept. 18.
