White Sox' Reinsdorf Takes To Chicago Airwaves To Dispel Notion Of Front-Office Rift

ESPN Radio 1000 Chicago host David Kaplan yesterday indicated that White Sox Exec VP Ken Williams and Senior VP & GM Rick Hahn were not on the same page, but team Chair Jerry Reinsdorf called in to "say all parties involved are 'in lockstep,'” according to Daryl Van Schouwen of the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES. Kaplan said that a scout from outside the White Sox organization "told him Hahn and Williams disagreed on whether the organization should rebuild for the long-term future or try to win now." Reinsdorf told Kaplan that the "front office -- Reinsdorf, Williams, Hahn -- is 100 percent in lockstep.” He said it is “untrue that Rick wanted to rebuild and Kenny didn’t" (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 8/17). In Chicago, Colleen Kane cites a White Sox source as saying Kaplan's theory is "absolute nonsense" (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 8/17).
