Overnight Ratings: Rams' Debut In L.A. On ESPN Leads Non-Olympic Weekend Sports

ESPN led all non-Olympic sports telecasts over the weekend with a 2.1 overnight rating for the Cowboys-Rams preseason matchup Saturday night. The game marked the Rams' first game since returning to L.A. The telecast aired directly opposite NBC Sports' primetime coverage of the Rio Games. For comparison, the Cowboys-Rams game was slightly higher than NBCSN's U.S.-Serbia men's basketball game on Friday from 6:00-8:00pm ET (2.0 overnight) and the U.S.-France game yesterday afternoon from 1:00-3:00pm.

The chart below lists overnight ratings from weekend sports telecasts on broadcast TV. Figures for NBC's afternoon Olympic telecasts were unavailable at presstime.
