Hawks Hosting Shark Tank-Like Competition In Effort To Help Boost Fan Engagement

The Hawks in an effort to help "boost fan engagement" will host a "Shark Tank-like marketing competition this month titled 'Agency Shootout,'" according to AJ Neuharth-Keusch of USA TODAY. At the "invitation only event," set to take place Aug. 17 just outside downtown Atlanta, "top marketing agencies will be asked to complete a series of Hawks-themed challenges quickly and efficiently in front of a panel of judges," including former NBAer and Hawks Vice Chair Grant Hill. For participating, each agency "will receive recognition from the team and a donation to the charity of its choice by the Atlanta Hawks Foundation." Hawks Exec VP & CMO Melissa Proctor said, "It was really looking at our B2B community and thinking, 'How can we, as an organization, engage brands within the city as well as the creative community to kind of bring them together in a unique setting?'" Joining Hill on the panel of judges are Hawks Minority Owner Jesse Itzler, CEO Steve Koonin and Aaron's VP/Marketing Andrea Freeman (USA TODAY, 8/11).
