Weekend Plans With Patriots Senior VP Jen Ferron: Training Camp, Family Gathering

Patriots Senior VP/Marketing & Brand Development JEN FERRON is responsible for almost everything that happens from a fan experience standpoint at Gillette Stadium. She said, “I oversee content development, our media relations, social media ... really any touchpoint that we have with a Patriots fan." Training camp kicked off last Thursday, and the team hosted public practice sessions for fans that were free to the public, in addition to a COLDPLAY concert and team HOF ring ceremony for former player KEVIN FAULK. This weekend, training camp continues.

FAN CONNECTION
: I live in Holliston, Mass., about 25 miles from Gillette. I have two children, a 9-year-old son and a 5-year-old daughter, so my weekends are often spent juggling time with them. This Friday, we will start the day here with training camp. We have another public session that will be open to our fans that includes an interactive fan zone where people can test their football skills with throwing and kicking contests -- they’ll get a chance to win prizes. They can take photos to post to social media and also have an opportunity post-practice to get autographs with players. We have some corporate hospitality that we will be hosting in conjunction with practice as well. We’ll be doing a lot of entertaining for our customers, club members and suite holders and then also corporate partners who choose to come down.

FAMILY TIME: Friday night we will hang out and relax with my kids. Both are in an all-day outdoor summer camp, so usually by the time Friday rolls around, I’ve got two relatively tired kids. We’ll probably have a takeout night and get things in order for a family gathering at my house on Saturday. Saturday is my father’s 70th birthday, so my parents, siblings, nieces and nephews will all come over for a cookout. We’ve rented an inflatable water slide and have been blowing up balloons for a water balloon fight. Then when that’s all over, we’ll probably just relax and have a fire by the fire pit and make some s’mores.

WORK PREP: On Sundays, I do try to write down a list of the things I have to do for the upcoming work week. I feel like there is never much downtime in our world. Starting Monday, fresh and having that list of what I need to accomplish to get things off on the right foot is the one thing workwise I’m always committed to on the weekends. I also always try to stay current on email over the weekends. I don’t get to spend as much time with my kids what with work being so demanding, so most of my free time I’m with them. We’ll go to the pool, we’ll play in the yard, we’ll build forts, and just anything I can do to spend time with them.

THIS & THAT: “CRIMINAL MINDS” and “NCIS” are two of my favorite TV shows. I also always read People magazine. Food wise, I wouldn’t call myself a great cook, as I tend to be more of a takeout expert. My favorite vacation spot is Newport, RI. My husband and I were married there, and that’s where we go to just get away from it all and decompress.
