Lagardere Sports Hires Tim Mickelson, Phil's Brother, To Manage Jon Rahm

Tim Mickelson, the former head men’s golf coach at Arizona State and the brother of golfer Phil Mickelson, has joined Lagardère Sports as a player manager. At Lagardère Sports, Tim Mickelson will work directly with new client Jon Rahm, the former world No. 1 ranked amateur, who recently earned special temporary membership to the PGA Tour through his play since turning pro less than two months ago. Mickelson coached Rahm at ASU and will work under the leadership of Steve Loy, Lagardère Sports President of Golf. Loy is the longtime agent for Phil Mickelson. Tim Mickelson in a statement said he never envisioned retiring as a college golf coach, but becoming an agent "was an exciting and interesting option that always was in the back of my mind." Mickelson twice led ASU to the top 10 in the NCAA Championship in the last five years and was named Pac-12 men's golf coach of the year in '11. Loy said the relationship between Tim Mickelson and Rahm reminded him of his relationship with Phil Mickelson. He added in a statement, "Because Jon is now a member of the PGA Tour, this was the perfect time to convince Tim to join Lagardère Sports."
