The Jaguars yesterday unveiled their newly imagined US Assure Club at EverBank Field. The premium seating environment now features brand new walkout patios at the 50-yard line, a first among NFL stadiums. The fully climate-controlled space replaces the old access to the general bowl with a full wall of storefront glass. It features premium seating options such as club tables and bar rails. The design was conceived with architects from K.C.-based Populous and built by Birmingham-based Brasfield & Gorrie (Jaguars). In Jacksonville, Hays Carlyon in a front-page piece notes the $26.6M renovation is the first phase in a $90M project to EverBank Field that will "include a 5,000-seat amphitheater and covered practice field for the team." The US Assure Club's new glass walls bring in "light and a connection between the stadium seating and the club spaces." Jaguars President Mark Lamping said, "People that have been around the stadium for a number of years say it has a totally different feel. The impact of creating the connection between the Club and the seating bowl is really important." Carlyon notes the club renovation added space for fans, but "brought down the club seat capacity by 2,700 to 8,602 and EverBank Field's capacity to 64,428." Temporary bleachers will be "brought in to replace the lost seats" for the annual Florida-Georgia college football game. Lamping believes that the club seats "will be sold out to season-ticket holders by the regular-season opener" against the Packers on Sept. 11 (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 8/2).
