Vikings Select Architect, Construction Company For New HQ Expected To Open In '18

The Vikings have selected K.C.-based Crawford Architects and Minneapolis-based Kraus-Anderson Construction to "design and build their new headquarters and practice facility" in Eagan, Minn., according to Nicole Norfleet of the Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE. The team hopes to "break ground on the project in early August with a plan for move-in" by March '18. The new Vikings HQ will include a "6,000-seat stadium, outdoor and indoor practice fields, meetings rooms, a media center, and administrative offices." The complex is the "first phase of a 15-year plan for the redevelopment of 200 acres of lands complete with offices, retail space, housing and a hotel." Crawford Architects has a "history of developing athletic facilities" such as the Seahawks' Virginia Mason Athletic Center and Penn State's Pegula Ice Arena (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 7/28).
