NFL Media Notes: James Brown Returns To "Inside The NFL" After Two-Year Hiatus

In N.Y., Bob Raissman noted after a two-year hiatus, James Brown "will return as host" of Showtime’s "Inside the NFL," which debuts Sept. 6. Showtime "confirmed the return" of Brown, who left to host CBS' "Thursday Night Football" pregame show prior to the '14 season. Since CBS now shares the "TNF" package with NBC and NFL Network this season, Brown "will be able to appear" again on Showtime. Adam Schein, who last season hosted "Inside The NFL," "will return to host when Brown is unable, because of scheduling conflicts, to appear on the show." Schein also is "likely to be seen" on Showtime's program "in another capacity when Brown is hosting" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 7/17).

STRAIGHT TALK HOMIE: ESPN this morning announced former NFLer Randy Moss is joining the network as an analyst for "Sunday NFL Countdown" as well as "Monday Night Countdown." Moss also will contribute to ESPN's coverage during Super Bowl week. Moss for the past three years worked as an analyst for "Fox NFL Kickoff" and other shows on the net (ESPN).

MORE OF THE SAME: The Ravens on Friday announced a six-year deal to keep their radio game broadcasts on Hearst-owned WBAL-AM and WIYY-FM in Baltimore, which will remain the team's flagship stations through the '22 season. In addition, WBAL-NBC will continue as an official TV broadcast partner, covering preseason games and three weekly in-season programs created by Ravens Productions, the team's in-house broadcasting unit. The new deal formally takes effect in '17 as an extension of the previous '11-16 deal (Ravens).
