Rams Sell Out Season-Ticket Allotment of 70,000, Turn Attention To Single Games

The Rams "have completed their season-ticket sales process for this fall and now will turn their attention to distributing a limited number of single-game tickets," according to Sam Farmer of the L.A. TIMES. Fans who put down deposits "were contacted in waves on a first-come, first-served basis, and roughly 24,000 of them bought the entire allotment of 70,000 tickets." By the time the franchise "got through the first six hours of deposits, the season tickets were gone." The Rams this week "will begin selling single-game tickets, making those available first to the deposit holders on the list who have yet to be contacted, again in the order they placed their deposits earlier this year." Rams VP/Tickets & Premium Seating Jake Bye said a "very limited number" of single-game tickets will be released to the general public on July 28. The team "will stage a Fan Fest on Aug. 6 as an opportunity for Rams fans -- particularly those who didn’t get the chance to buy a game ticket -- to watch an open practice at the Coliseum and see the team live." The event "will be free" (L.A. TIMES, 7/13). In L.A., Jack Wang notes the Rams "are planning to set home stadium capacity at 80,000, which leaves parts of the Coliseum unused, but may sell more tickets for certain games depending on the demand" (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 7/13).

FINE CHINA: The 49ers will play the Rams in a regular-season game in China in '18, according to sources. It will most likely serve as the Rams' home opener, although no date has been determined, sources said. In March, reports surfaced that the NFL wants to expand its international presence to China and that the Rams were one team selected to play there. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell later confirmed multiple teams had shown interest in playing in China. NFL VP/Communications Brian McCarthy said, “We have not announced the Rams’ opponent in the event we play a game there. We have said we are exploring playing a game there but nothing is definitive.” Any China game would be subject to league approval at an NFL owners meeting in October (Don Muret, Staff Writer).
