Overnight Ratings: Fox Up For U.S. Women's Open Final Round With Late Finish

Fox drew a 1.0 overnight rating for the final round of the U.S. Women's Open yesterday from 3:00-8:15pm ET, which saw Brittany Lang win in a playoff over Anna Nordqvist at CordeValle Golf Club outside S.F. That figure is up from a 0.7 overnight for last year’s final round, which was Fox Sports’ first year with the event and saw In Gee Chun hold off Amy Yang by one stroke at Lancaster Country Club on the East Coast (2:30-6:30pm). Both ’16 and ’15 are down sharply from NBC's coverage in ‘14 (1.7), but that event saw Michelle Wie defeat Stacy Lewis by two strokes.

MY OLD KENTUCKY HOME: NBCSN on Saturday night drew a 1.8 overnight for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race from Kentucky Speedway, down slightly from a 1.9 for the same race last year. It was NBCSN's first Cup race of the '16 season. The race on Saturday had competition from MLB regionalized coverage on Fox, UFC 200 coverage on FS1 and PPV and the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials on NBC, among other broadcasts.

The chart below lists overnight ratings from weekend sports telecasts on broadcast TV.
