50 Sports Tech Startups To Compete In Dublin Later This Year

This is guest post from Michael O’Donnell, Head of Startups for Sports & Tech, a new event aimed at a global audience and taking place in Dublin later this year.

The Sports & Tech 2016 Conference descends on Dublin City this Autumn with the coming together of industry professionals, global media and investors and the hearts of our community the Startup companies.

On October 26th and 27th in Dublins RDS it will be a who’s who of the Sports and Tech industry when two behemoth industries combine to be showcased in what hopes to be one of the stand out sports technology events of 2016.

The concept began as a ‘pop up’ event last year, an opportunity to engage with like-minded folk to share ideas and widen the sports and tech community. This year the event comes back bigger, brighter and better. A much larger venue, a huge range of investors, and an exciting Startup competition pitting 50 of the top sports startups against each other, all spanned over two days in Dublin, the sports and tech hub of Ireland and epicentre of many multinationals.

The startup competition will be the shining light of Sports and Tech 2016. A diversified group of the most innovative sports startups will each get an opportunity to show off what they have to offer. The winner will walk away with not only the title of being the top sports startup of 2016 but also pocket a handsome cash sum and a top line package of marketing and PR.

The startups are being selected from sports tech crossovers such as fan engagement, virtual and augmented reality, smart venue solutions, wearables, and the ever growing categories of data and performance analysis. Selection is by way of invite only, but if you do know of a startup that you believe should be there please nominate them here.

Sports and Tech is co-founded by Health Tech Entrepreneur and Connector Clyde Hutchinson, Pundit Arena Founders Ross O’Dwyer and Richard Barrett and Sport for Business Founder Rob Hartnett.

SportTechie is proud to be partnering with Sports & Tech as the lead media partner for this Dublin event that will live at the intersection of tech and sports. Stay tuned for updates as the event approaches.
