USA Baseball Moving To All-In-One Communications Platform With Teamworks

USA Baseball is a massive operation. Managing an entire dugout of players from all over the country is no easy task, especially when it means communicating with players from eight different levels of play.

“If we’re not identifying and following athletes in the United States, we’re most likely traveling internationally with the national teams,” said USA Baseball Chief Operating Officer, David Perkins.

To make the job just a bit simpler, USA Baseball has partnered with Teamworks, an internal communications software provider.

Teamworks streamlines an organization’s ability to connect with players, coaches, staff and even parents. The software operates on any mobile platform, so it opens on, let’s say, a player’s smartphone and they are automatically able to access an all-inclusive calendar and send messages to anyone pertinent.

The software will also allow for USA Baseball to become slightly more green, as it maneuvers to become  a paperless operation. Teamworks has a data-filing feature, through which users have access to necessary forms, like medical records. The Teamworks platform also makes signing the mass amounts of documents needed for athletics painless, as those forms can be uploaded to Teamworks and players can digitally add their signature.

Known mostly for working with collegiate athletic programs in the past, Teamworks has grown to provide communications solutions for more than 300 NCAA Division I programs. Slowly, professional teams started to take notice, and four major organizations partnered with Teamworks—the San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals, Washington Nationals and San Francisco Giants.Screen Shot 2016-06-29 at 7.06.10 AM

But, Teamworks has mastered the ability to work well with college programs, as coaches have full access to anything they need to know about their athletes, whether that be class schedule, grades or workout progression.

The NCAA even trusted the company with all of the communications during March Madness, turning everything electronic—from forms to any applicable information.
