UFC's Holly Holm Signs With Agency For The Performing Arts For Representation

UFC fighter Holly Holm "recently signed on with" L.A.-based Agency for the Performing Arts for representation, which means "movie/television opportunities might well be" in her future, according to Rick Wright of the ALBUQUERQUE JOURNAL. Holm reportedly has "turned down a role in a major studio movie because the project conflicted with her training for an upcoming fight." However, last summer she "filmed action scenes for 'Fight Valley,' an MMA-themed film due for release July 22." Holm's coach Mike Winkeljohn said that he and promoter Lenny Fresquez "always have had an eye on her post-combat sports future." Winkeljohn said Holm is "the number one asked-for athlete by the UFC, even though she doesn’t have a title anymore, for interviews and press and different stories." He added, "There’s more talk about Holly than anybody else." He added that the APA "also has an agreement with Albuquerque’s Jackson-Wink Mixed Martial Arts, where Holm trains." Winkeljohn: "There’s talk of reality shows. There’s talk about sponsorships. There’s so much social media, so much media that comes through our gym, world-wide, it’s incredible. So they’re going to help us tap into a way to monetize all that" (ALBUQUERQUE JOURNAL, 6/15). The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER's Rebecca Sun noted the agency "will work to expand and monetize Jackson-Wink’s brand, which is considered by many in the sport to be the top MMA training camp in the world." In addition to Holm, it is "home" to other UFC fighters including Jon "Bones" Jones, Alistair Overeem, Andre Arlovski and Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 6/13).
