Lamping Says Jaguars' Practice Facility Project Scheduled For Completion By Spring '17

Jaguars President Mark Lamping yesterday said that the practice facility and amphitheater project outside EverBank Field is "underway and scheduled for completion next spring," according to Ryan O'Halloran of the FLORIDA TIMES-UNION. The indoor practice facility and amphitheater are the "main components," but the project also features a "new entrance way for the Jaguars" inside the stadium. The estimated cost is projected to be $90M. O'Halloran notes the Jaguars "won't have the indoor facility at their disposal this year, a development that became apparent as the off-season progressed and shovel wasn't put to dirt outside the stadium." Lamping: "There's going to be a lot of activity during the season and into the off-season but we feel good about where the project is." O'Halloran notes club-seat renovation on the East and West sides "is on schedule." The Jaguars have removed 2,700 club seats, but the "new official capacity hasn't been announced" (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 6/14). Meanwhile, Lamping said that the season-ticket renewal rate "is in the 'mid 80's,' but the Jaguars hope to hit" 90% before the end of summer. Lamping said, "We're running well ahead of where we thought we would be in terms of new season sales. Certainly [we] expect to be in excess of 45,000 season ticket sales. We'll sell more season tickets this year than last year" (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 6/14).
