Red Bulls Bringing On Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield N.J. As Health Insurance Partner

The Red Bulls this week will announce that Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield New Jersey has signed a five-year deal to become the team’s official health insurance partner. Horizon BCBSNJ members will have access to discounts on tickets for all Red Bulls home games. The Newark-based insurer will receive a designated Horizon Healthy Zone within the Red Bull Arena concourse, where it will offer health screenings and information about services and products. Horizon BCBSNJ will also operate a concession stand called the Horizon Healthy Goal, which will provide healthy food options. The insurer operates similar concession stands at MiLB ballparks in New Jersey. The company will be the exclusive sponsor of the MLS team’s Oct. 16 match against the Crew, which it will use to raise breast cancer awareness. The partnership will launch Wednesday when 100 New Jersey high school students visit the team’s training facility, and additional Horizon-branded community activities will be held as part of the partnership going forward. Financial terms of the partnership, which was negotiated in-house by both parties, were not disclosed.
