New Clothing Line For Impact's Patrice Bernier Shows Soccer's Growth In Montreal

Impact MF Patrice Bernier “has a new line of activewear on the market" through Montreal-based fashion brand Winners, including "T-shirts, tank tops, shorts and jogging pants,” according to Stu Cowan of the MONTREAL GAZETTE. Bernier joined the MLS club in '12 and became the “face of the franchise" before F Didier Drogba arrived from the EPL. Bernier said, “Sports and fashion are intertwined now, there are more athletes representing brands, so once I had the opportunity I said ‘why not?’” Cowan noted the new clothing line, by Canada-based design firm Kyodan, shows the soccer club is "making a bigger footprint on the city’s sports scene.” Bernier has had endorsement deals in the past with Milk 2 Go and adidas, and he said of the new clothing line, “Sometimes it’s mostly just a partnership where you get free stuff, but I’ve never had a deal like this. It was something very interesting because you get to create your own line of clothing in your own name and be a part of the creative process” (MONTREAL GAZETTE, 6/9).
