Goodyear Uses Akron Natives In NBA Finals As An Opportunity For Promotional Campaign

Goodyear has "conceived of a way to celebrate Akron natives LeBron James and Stephen Curry in the NBA Finals" beginning tonight with their "Akron Born" campaign, according to Jim Mackinnon of the AKRON BEACON JOURNAL. Parents of children "born in Akron-area hospitals starting" today through June 19 will receive a set of four tires, an "Akron Born" onesie for their child and a car seat courtesy of Goodyear. The Akron-based tire company "calls its promotion a 'Most Valuable Ride' care package." Three Akron-based medical facilities "will participate and help deliver the care packages." Goodyear's social media campaign around "Akron Born" also includes "a chance for someone to win a ride on a blimp."
