Octagon Hires ESPN's Tim Scanlan To Lead Agency's Broadcast Talent Group

Octagon has hired former ESPN exec Tim Scanlan as VP/Sports Broadcast, a new position at the agency in which he will lead the company's broadcast talent representation group. Scanlan was most recently ESPN VP/Talent Planning & Development, where he was involved in recruitment of and contract negotiations for commentators on ESPN sports content, including NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS and international soccer. Scanlan, who will be based out of Octagon’s N.Y. office, began work yesterday. He reports to Octagon Founder & President Phil de Picciotto. Scanlan’s experience in broadcasting and relationships throughout the industry will provide immediate benefits to Octagon’s broadcast talent clients, as well as its media and broadcast business overall, de Picciotto said. He added, “On top of that, he is extremely well respected and liked, thinks in global terms and acts collaboratively, all of which we value highly at Octagon.” Octagon’s broadcast clients include ESPN's Bob Ley, Chris Fowler and Neil Everett, CBS' Bill Cowher, NBC's Rebecca Lowe and NFL Network's Brian Billick and Andrea Kremer, among others.
