Visa Olympic Marketing Head Zaileen Janmohamed Leaving The Company

Another key member of Visa’s Olympics marketing team has departed just months before the Rio Games. ZAILEEN JANMOHAMED, head of Olympics management and SBJ/SBD Forty Under 40 winner, resigned May 13 without a job lined up elsewhere. Janmohamed’s boss, Senior VP/Global Brand, Product & Sponsorship Marketing RICARDO FORT, was dismissed in February during a reorganization. That change, along with the magazine’s award, caused her to consider her future in new ways. “The company’s gone through a number of changes, Ricardo was a very strong mentor for me, and I knew that losing a leader like that would have a really big impact for me,” she said. The industry’s response to the Forty Under 40 honors accelerated her decision. Confidants said the attention would give her a window of opportunity make a change, if she wanted. “It was at a time that was almost too good to be true,” Janmohamed said. “It allows you to reflect on what you’ve done, but also people start noticing all the things you’ve done in your life, and they start asking questions about what you want to do now, where do you see yourself going? I started to think there’s life outside Visa, and now I can do some new things, and learn something outside of payment services, which I’ve been doing for 11-12 years now.” Janmohamed has not been replaced. A spokesperson said Senior Dir Of Corporate Sponsorship KATE JOHNSON and Dir of Global Sponsorship Marketing KARA LINSE are handling her duties.
