Team8's Andre Silva Leaving Representation Business To Run Western & Southern Open

Tennis and hockey agent Andre Silva is leaving the representation business to become ATP/WTA Western & Southern Open Tournament Dir. Silva has been a top exec at Team8, the agency formed by Roger Federer’s agent Tony Godsick. Team8 represents largely tennis players, though last year it signed NHL Rangers G Henrik Lundqvist. Silva has two children under 3 years old, and Godsick in an email wrote Silva "didn't want to travel as much and his role at TEAM8 required extensive travel.” Godsick: “The Cincinnati job is a great opportunity for him as he won't have to travel extensively. I'm so happy for him that he is staying in the sport of tennis. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if he helped represent the USTA's political interests on both the WTA and ATP tours in the future,” he added. The combined WTA/ATP Cincinnati stop is owned by the USTA. Silva starts May 31. The tournament is scheduled for Aug, 14-21. Before Godsick hired Silva in '14, he worked for the ATP.
