ESPN To Get In Front Of Younger Audience With New Production Deal With Vice Media

ESPN and Vice Media have signed a production and distribution deal that will see Vice Sports produce original series for ESPN. The deal also will see ESPN allow the TV channel Viceland to run some “30 for 30” documentaries. For ESPN, the deal puts its brand in front of a younger audience that Vice attracts. Deal terms have ESPN and Vice Sports creating new short-form series focused on sports and athletes outside the mainstream that will run on both ESPN and Vice. This includes animated series. ESPN will carry some episodes from Vice’s “The Clubhouse” series and it will carry “digital cutdowns” of the Viceland show “Vice World of Sports” on its digital properties. The deal’s financial details were not revealed.
