Red Bulls, FanAngel Raising Money For Autism Speaks Via New Campaign

The Red Bulls in conjunction with sports crowdfunding platform FanAngel are raising money to support Autism Speaks via its Light It Up Blue Together campaign. The team raised $7,830 via a portion of ticket sales for the team’s April 9 game against Sporting KC, and is inviting fans to make per-goal, per-win or flat rate donations via the online portal. Each fan who donates at least $250 will receive a game-worn jersey from Autism Awareness night with special light blue numbering. The fan who makes the highest donation will also receive MF Dax McCarty's captain arm band. Red Bulls GM Marc de Grandpre's daughter, Julia, who is on the autism spectrum, served as the inspiration for the campaign. The team in the coming weeks will launch a similar effort through FanAngel led by G Luis Robles to support the Hackensack Univ. Medical Center’s Tackle Kids Cancer program.
