Canadian Golf Agent Fritz Building Impressive Roster With Names Like DeLaet, Hearn

SportBox Entertainment Group CEO Danny Fritz reached the "summit of the Canadian sports-agency world nearly three years ago" when he founded the company, and now his team manages the "biggest names in Canadian golf," according to a profile by Adam Stanley of the GLOBE & MAIL. Fritz founded SportBox after almost a decade with IMG Canada, "including two and a half years as its managing director." Now his team of 10 manages players including Mike Weir, Graham DeLaet and David Hearn, and SportBox also "consults, plans events and tournaments." Additionally, Fritz has "lined up sponsorship deals" for Weir with Booster Juice, Hearn with Kia Canada and Shaw Communications, and DeLaet with Shaw, Puma Golf and MGM Resorts Int'l. Fritz said that IMG was a "very competitive place, but when he started he tried to learn about everyone else's job as well, so that he could potentially run the whole business one day." After nearly three years at the helm of IMG Canada, Fritz said that he "realized IMG wasn't the same place as it was when he started." SportBox started at the PGA Tour RBC Canadian Open in '13 with the "announcement that it had acquired the golf assets from Landmark Sport Group." Now the agency "manages 13 players" (GLOBE & MAIL, 4/21).
