Surprise, Surprise: Warriors Announce Nearly 100% Season-Ticket Renewal Rate

The Warriors have announced a franchise-record 99.5% of season-ticket holders "have chosen to renew their seats for next season," according to Michael Lerseth of the S.F. CHRONICLE. This is the "fourth consecutive year that the renewal rate for season ticket holders was above" 90%. Additionally, the wait list to "get a seat at Oracle Arena -- which holds less than 20,000 people -- is now more than 26,000 names long." The Warriors are coming off a record-setting season that saw them go 39-2 at home during the regular season (S.F. CHRONICLE, 4/15).

AFTERNOON DELIGHT? The Warriors will begin their quest for a second consecutive NBA title Saturday at 3:30pm ET against the Rockets, and CSN Bay Area’s Jim Kozimor said for a team that is "as much fun to watch” as the Warriors are, they were "gifted with the enviable 12:30 Saturday start” local time. The San Jose Mercury News’ Tim Kawakami said, “They’re not happy. ... It was a motivation last year. They didn't like playing on Saturday last year with Game One.” Kawakami: “They always are looking for little slights, we know this. They're always looking for times when they're not respected. They thought they earned this glamour slot” (“Sports Talk Live,” CSN Bay Area, 4/14).
