Purdue Search Committee Hires DHR Int'l To Help Find Replacement For AD Burke

The committee "tasked with finding" Purdue's next AD has hired Chicago-based firm DHR Int'l to "help conduct the search," according to Nathan Baird of the Lafayette JOURNAL & COURIER. Purdue BOT Chair & Search Committee Chair Michael Berghoff said that representatives of DHR Int'l "were present" when the search committee "convened for the first time last Wednesday in Indianapolis." Purdue AD Morgan Burke in February announced that he "will retire no later than when his contract expires" at the end of June 2017. DHR has also participated in AD searches for Colorado State, Miami, Pitt, Rice and Syracuse. Berghoff said that DHR "will spend the next month soliciting feedback from Purdue stakeholders regarding the skill set and criteria they feel are important." He expects the firm to "tour Purdue's facilities and interview student athletes, athletic department staff and visit with senior administrators." DHR will "help develop a job description, then move toward compiling a list of candidates." Berghoff said a timetable for a hire is "probably more like 3-6 months and less like 6-12" (Lafayette JOURNAL & COURIER, 4/7).
