Ticket Prices At Playoff Levels For NBA Kings' Final Home Game At Sleep Train Arena

When the NBA Kings end their 28-year run at Sleep Train Arena on Saturday night against the Thunder, fans "better be prepared for playoff-level prices" for tickets that are still for sale and "going for $105 and up," according to a front-page piece by Ed Fletcher of the SACRAMENTO BEE. The team has been "pouring on the promotions as the season nears its end," and has "dialed up the nostalgia in recent weeks with a series of throwback nights." The Kings said that the final game "will be an evening appropriate for the moment." As many as 50 former players "will attend the finale." It is "unclear what awaits Sleep Train after the Kings depart." For now, Kings President Chris Granger said that it will "still be booked for events." Fletcher notes concerts, trade shows and graduations "are already planned through the summer." Granger added that in the long term, the Kings "will continue working with the community and consultants to identify a use for the 185 acres the team controls" (SACRAMENTO BEE, 4/6).
