Schilling Will Return To ESPN After Comments On Hillary Clinton's Presidential Campaign

ESPN's Curt Schilling this season "will be returning" as an analyst on the net's "Monday Night Baseball" program, according to Silverman & Lemire of VOCATIV.com. Schilling on March 1 suggested during a K.C. radio appearance that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton "should be buried under a jail somewhere" for her handling of classified emails as Secretary of State. Schilling added, "If she's allowed to get to the general election before she's in prison I'll be stunned and upset." Silverman & Lemire sarcastically write Schilling's statements "evidently ... did not violate ESPN's guidelines" for Presidential Election coverage (VOCATIV.com, 3/23). In N.Y., Daniel Popper notes this is "not the first time Schilling has ruffled feathers with his political rhetoric." ESPN suspended him over the summer after he "posted a graphic on Facebook comparing Muslims to Nazis." Schilling "was removed" from the net's "Sunday Night Baseball" booth for the remainder of the season, "clearing the way for Jessica Mendoza, who will have a permanent role on 'Sunday Night Baseball'" in '16 (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 3/24).
