Slyce Of The Pie: Curry An Investor In Social Media Startup Founded By College Roommate

Warriors G Stephen Curry is an investor and co-founder in Slyce, a new social media outlet that "gives him a chance to finally talk about what he wants to talk about: the Panthers, golf, charitable stuff that he does and topics other than basketball," according to Nina Mandell of USA TODAY. Curry's roommate at Davidson, Bryant Barr, along with former Nike designer Jason Mayden created the platform, which debuted last month and allows "influencers -- such as Curry -- to sift through questions and topics to find ones they want to address." Curry said that Slyce also gives him a way to "take back just a bit of control of his own voice in the chaos that's surrounding" the Warriors this season (USA TODAY, 3/2).

ARMOUR ALL: ESPN's Darren Rovell reported Under Armour has released "more sizes," including for toddlers, youth and "almost every color," of their Curry 2 shoe. This marks the "first time they've put a basketball shoe in infant sizes." Rovell said of UA, "They know what they're doing. If you look at basketball courts around the country and you look at youth basketball leagues, for the first time you see that kids are willing to wear Under Armour in a basketball shoe. Before Steph Curry that just wasn't happening." Rovell added, "LeBron is still selling a lot more shoes, but part of that is really just a factor of Nike being more of a shoe company and Under Armour being more of an apparel company." But Rovell said with jersey sales, "that's people voting with their dollars and that really shows that Steph has established himself as No. 1" ("SportsCenter," ESPN, 3/1).
