Dean & DeLuca Planning To Have A Store On Site During Its PGA Tour Event

Dean & DeLuca as part of its title sponsorship of the PGA Tour event formerly known as the Colonial, will have a store "in the tournament's Main Street area that would offer samplings of items produced by the upscale, international specialty foods retailer," according to Jimmy Burch of the FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM. Fans can buy items at the store, but concessions "will remain in the hands of Spectrum Catering." D&D Global President Bayani Lauraya said fans will "definitely have some Dean & DeLuca experience" at the event. However, Burch noted the "short turnaround time before the opening round" of the May event means the fresh tweaks "will not be extensive." D&D Chief Development Officer Jay Coldren said company execs "want to enter the tournament in a way that's respectful" to the event's history. However, D&D plans to "make their brand visible during tournament week in the first year of their six-year agreement" (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 2/25).
