Univ. Of South Carolina Signs 10-Year Extension with Under Armour For Apparel

The Univ. of South Carolina's BOT on Friday "agreed to a 10-year deal" with Under Armour worth a total of $71.5M, according to Josh Kendall of the Columbia STATE. School officials said that the deal is the "second-most valuable in the SEC and seventh-most valuable in the nation." The school's previous deal with UA, which expires at the end of June, "was for six years" at a total of $6.2M. Kendall noted the new deal breaks down into $24.5M in rights fees and $44.5M in product allowance, plus a $2M signing bonus. South Carolina did "not have discussions with any other apparel companies before renewing this deal." South Carolina and Auburn are currently the "only SEC schools wearing Under Armour apparel." Meanwhile, South Carolina's BOT also "approved a new five-year deal" with CLC as the "exclusive seller of Gamecocks merchandise" (Columbia STATE, 2/20).
