Jazz President Randy Rigby Retiring At End Of Season Following 30-Year Tenure

Jazz President RANDY RIGBY yesterday announced his retirement after 30 years with Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment. Rigby will make the transition to serve as an organizational adviser at the end of the '15-16 season. LHM President STEVE STARKS will also become Jazz President (Jazz). In Salt Lake City, Aaron Falk notes Rigby in recent years "has helped spearhead the purchase of the team's D-League franchise," the Idaho Stampede, and the "return of summer league basketball to Salt Lake City." Starks has been with the LHM Group since '07 and has "risen steadily through its ranks since working as an understudy" to late Jazz Owner LARRY MILLER (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 2/18). In Utah, Jody Genessy notes Rigby "negotiated broadcasting rights agreements" and helped expand "viewership to six states for all regular season games in HD." He also helped "create a 16-station Intermountain radio network for Jazz games," and hired GM DENNIS LINDSEY (DESERET NEWS, 2/18).
