Wheels & Deals: Danica Promoting Nature's Bakery Ahead Of Daytona 500

NASCAR driver Danica Patrick was making the media rounds yesterday to promote the first year of her primary sponsorship with Nature's Bakery. Patrick noted the healthy-snack company is "taking classics and making them healthy, like brownies, things like that." She said to promote the new partnership, there are "going to be a lot of cool things we'll do moving forward that are out of the box for normal media and appearances and things like that." Patrick: "I'm doing yoga with the media. That's something that I've never done before” (“NASCAR RaceHub,” FS1, 2/16). Patrick said of switching from GoDaddy’s green race suit to the light blue Nature’s Bakery suit, “The light blue may flatter my skin tone a little bit more than the green did” (“SportsCenter,” ESPN, 2/16).

MOVIN' ON UP: AAA is moving its Sprint Cup race entitlement at Dover Int'l Speedway from the fall to the spring. The AAA 400 Drive for Autism will be held on May 15 as part of a three-year extension between the track and the auto company. The fall race had carried AAA title sponsorship for the last seven years, and the company will still have a presence at that event, albeit in a small capacity (AAA). FedEx had sponsored the fall race at DIS since '11 (THE DAILY).

STAYING WITH AN OLD FRIEND: Aaron's has signed a multiyear renewal with NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip, which will see the lease-to-own retailer serve as an associate sponsor on Waltrip's Sprint Cup car at the Daytona 500 and the May 1 Geico 500 at Talladega. Waltrip, who has a 16-year relationship with Aaron's, will appear in new TV ads, including one set to premiere during Fox' coverage of the Daytona 500 on Sunday (Aaron's).
